Instructors

Elizabeth Austen is a poet, a teacher, and the former Poet Laureate of Washington State. Every Dress a Decision (Blue Begonia Press) was a finalist for the Washington State Book Award. https://elizabethausten.wordpress.com/about/bio/.

Juan Carlos Reyes is an author, editor, and assistant professor of creative writing. Juan teaches at Seattle University, is editor of Big Fiction Magazine, and author of A Summer's Lynching (Quarterly West) as well as Elements of a Bystander (Arcadia Press.)  https://www.jcreyes.net/.

Elizabeth plans to examine balancing intense emotional events with distance in our writing, as well as look at performing our work.
